ISTA 2B Random Vibration vs. MIL-STD 810G 3 Axis Random Vibration

I have a customer that is testing to MIL-STD 810 for a 400# palletized product which requires vertical, horizontal and longitudinal random vibration. I am trying to convince them that a 2B vertical random vibration is equivalent (frequency break points are nearly identical), but does not vibrate in the horizontal or longitudinal axis. What arguement can I make about the 2B test that creates a comparison. I can't find any reasoning to conduct a horizontal or longitudnal vibration unless generating a failure analysis. Thoughts?
