Testing Magnets to Determine if Hazardous Material.

I've contacted three local testing labs and none of them have a procedure to validate product per the 49CFR requirements as shown below. I'm confident the strength falls below the requirement but I would like test documentation as backup. Do you have any recommendations?



…All magnetized materials that have a measurable magnetic field strength greater than 0.00525 gauss at 15 feet. For air transportation, all magnetized materials that can cause a compass deviation at a distance of 7 feet or more….

I don't have any recommendations on a test lab to contact, but you can verify you meet this requirement in house as the party who is offering this material for transportation. Gauss meters are fairly inexpensive tools to purchase. I also recommend contacting your carriers Dangerous Goods department.
