we are a corrugated box Mfg, our customer is asking if our product (corrugated paperboard) is "RoHS" compliant.

is corrugted paperboard (Boxes) subjest to RoHS (European agency) regulations, or is that another organization? Do you know wich organization that is.

i believe RoHS is for the electronics industry.

our customer would like to be sure.

What I found on the internet regarding RoHS 2, the 2011 revision of the EC directive on hazardous substances in electronic products states the following:

Q6.8 Does packaging have to comply to RoHS 2?

No. Recital 14 states RoHS is without prejudice to specific waste management legislation therefore packaging pursuant to the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive

(94/62/EC) is outside the scope of RoHS 2.
