which is a more severe test, 3A or 3B?

Basically, ISTA 3A and 3B are used for different load/package catigory as 3A is for the packages weight less than about 79Kg; 3Bis for the pallet load with the infividual boxes on it. so, as they are not compariable.

you could read the definition which is the part before test specs to find out which one is suitable for your paticular packages to be tested and use one of this protocal for the test. maybe, for example, your packages are transport both with floor loading (individual boxed) and the pallet loading, you might need to test both protocals as well. hope this helps.
